PROGRAM E'FESTIVAL 2026

A festival is not just a competition.
It is a place where photographers meet, walk together, argue about images, discover new ways of seeing.
During the Roma ÈFestival, the city becomes a playground for observation, curiosity and unexpected encounters.
For three days Rome will be filled with photographers coming from different backgrounds but sharing the same obsession: looking at the world carefully.
The program includes workshops, photowalks, portfolio reviews and talks.
Different formats, same purpose:
learning from each other.
WORKSHOPS
Workshop with Rui Palha — schedule and details communicated privately to interested participants.
Day 1: Full session (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
The workshop begins at 10:00 AM with an introduction to street photography by Rui Palha, focusing on his personal philosophy, composition techniques, and approach to urban photography. This is followed by a practical session—a photo walk through the streets of Rome—featuring individual and group guidance on capturing authentic moments. In the afternoon, around 2:00 PM, participants return for a critical review of the images taken, group discussions, and personalized feedback, continuing until 5:00 PM.
Day 2: Review and wrap-up (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM).
At 10:00 AM, the editing and selection phase begins, focusing on the participants’ best shots, with technical support and post-production tips provided. Rui Palha dedicates one-on-one time to each participant to review their individual portfolios in depth. The workshop concludes around 1:00 PM with a final presentation showcasing the selected photographs, celebrating collective achievements, and sharing final reflections.
PHOTOWALKS
An urban photowalk by reservation, led by Pau Buscató. The activity will focus on observation, the act of waiting, the search for visual relationships, and image construction within the public space.
PORTFOLIO REVIEWS
Every photographer eventually faces the same question:
What am I really trying to say with my images?
Portfolio reviews are one-to-one conversations with experienced photographers, editors and curators. Not a judgement. A dialogue.
Participants can present their work, discuss editing and sequencing, and receive honest feedback about their visual language.
Sometimes a single conversation can change the direction of a project.
Portfolio Reviews curated by Debora Valentini (Head of FIAF Social Media Communications) and Gianluca De Dominici (The Street Rover).

Cerimonia di premiazione con presentazione dei finalisti, consegna dei riconoscimenti, fotografie ufficiali e ringraziamenti a giuria, sponsor, partner e pubblico.

Photowalk, libri e workshop
09:30 — Apertura spazi e accoglienza partecipanti
10:00 — Partenza photowalk con Pau Buscató
Photowalk urbana su prenotazione, guidata da Pau Buscató. L’attività sarà dedicata all’osservazione, all’attesa, alla ricerca di relazioni visive e alla costruzione dell’immagine nello spazio pubblico.
10:00 — Apertura letture portfolio FIAF
Letture portfolio con Debora Valentini – Responsabile Area Comunicazione Social della FIAF, in contemporanea con la photowalk e le presentazioni editoriali.
10:00 — Presentazione libri: Stefano Mengotto (30 min.)
Incontro dedicato al libro fotografico.
10:40 — Presentazione libri: Susanne Bartes (40 min.)
Conversazione sul lavoro fotografico e sulla sua trasformazione in oggetto editoriale.
11:30 — Presentazione libri: Agnes Burger (Unlimited Zone Zine) (40 min.)
Presentazione del progetto e dialogo con la Curatrice.
12:20 — Presentazione libri Effezine (30 min.)
Incontro dedicato al progetto e sull’editoria indipendente, fanzine, autoproduzione e diffusione dei progetti fotografici.
13:00–14:30 — Pausa pranzo
14:30 — Workshop con Rui Palha
Seconda parte del workshop, con revisione del lavoro svolto, confronto sulle immagini e riflessione su editing, selezione e coerenza di progetto.
17:0 — Restituzione finale workshop / incontro con il pubblico
Condivisione di immagini, impressioni e riflessioni emerse dalle attività del weekend.
17:30 — Saluti conclusivi e chiusura del festival
